Abstract

Synopsis: Transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) may be more frequent than previously recognized. Pathogenesis of TRALI may have similarities to acute respiratory distress syndrome, with both recipient predisposition and factors in the stored blood product units playing major roles.
