Abstract
This paper focuses on the transformation of Ukrainian socio-political values from gaining its independence till the outbreak of unprovoked full-scale war that Russia started against Ukraine. The main historical and geopolitical factors have been determined which have affected the formation of socio-political values of Ukrainian society, its main contradictions and their unifying factors. The features of modern Ukraine`s socio-political values were analyzed. The question of nature and peculiarities of Ukrainian society`s socio-political values contains the answer to the question why Ukrainians, being in a state of war, have successfully offered such strong resistance to a much larger enemy.
