Abstract
In the general case the propagation of Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beams through ABCD paraxial optical systems and their coherent-mode representation have been studied in detail. Furthermore, on the basis of the M2-factor concept, the mode decomposition of two-dimensional GSM beams in the cylindrical coordinate system has been given.
