Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Transformation Leadership (TL) on Work Performance (WP) and mediating role of teaching Faculty Engagement (FE) in Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) in India during the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey method of data collection using Google forms was circulated among teaching faculty working in HEI across major cities in India. We were able to gather 568 valid responses after screening the invalid responses. The outcome of the research indicates that the structural model confirms the positive association between TL and WP. Further, the results confirmed that EE positively mediates the association between TL and WP of teaching faculty in HEI. Thus, transformational leaders in HEI develop the engagement of teaching faculty, which enhances their WP even in the virtual work environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
