Abstract

One year after that the forced social distancing due to the COVID-19 health emergency began, the deficiencies of the Mexican Education System came under the spotlight. The closure of educational institutions has implied the loss of school space as a privileged place for interaction, while pre-existing structural inequalities have been exacerbated. The purpose of this essay is to carry out a general description of the changes in basic education due to the forced distancing based on a general overview of the inequality crisis that our country has faced since the pandemic began, with the aim of reflecting on its future sequels.
