Abstract

The expressions of transferrin receptor and ferritin in a human-human hybridoma in protein-free media were examined. The regulation of the expressions of the two proteins appeared to be decoupled in protein-free cultures. Such cultures also exhibited much higher ferritin expression and endogenous iron pool than a culture in serum-free medium containing transferrin.
