Abstract
1. 1. By the study of protein polymorphism by means of starch-gel electrophoresis it was proved that chicken ( Gallus gallus) serum and yolk transferrins, egg-white conalbumins and a protein in the seminal plasma of cocks (“SPTf”) are genetically determined from one autosomal locus by three alleles ( Tƒ a, Tƒ b and Tƒ c ). 2. 2. The products of the Tƒ locus are phenotypically different in each studied fluid (excepto serum and yolk transferrins). 3. 3. Serum and yolk albumins of chickens also have genetic control from one locus by three alleles ( Alb A , Alb B , and Alb C ). 4. 4. The appearance of albumin phenotypes of the yolk is somewhat different from those of the serum.
