Abstract

There are many different travel behavior surveys with a wide range of sample sizes and contents, whose data sets are often difficult to merge. This contribution aims to evaluate the possibilities of transferring user typologies from one travel survey to another using a random forest classification model. By incorporating the parameters of usage frequencies, socio-demographics and mobility resources, the classification achieved a mean F1 score of 0.93. In conclusion, it can be shown that the proposed method is suitable for transferring mobility types developed on the basis of a specialized data set to other surveys using mobility behavior parameters.
