Abstract

Effect of substituent in N-/p-substituted phenyl/2-,6-dimethyl-4-pyridones is transferred through the whole molecule and manifests itself on the chemical shifts of pyridone ring nuclei and on the IR wavenumber of CD group. Also the one-bond coupling constants N-C 1 is affected. From the dependence of 1H NMR chemical shifts of hydrogen atoms ortho to pyridone ring on the substituent increments to chemical shifts the conclusion was drown about the change of the twist angle between both rings with the change of the substituent in the para position.
