Abstract

The precision analytical method developed previously for studying nonrelativistic particle tunneling through the self-similar fractal potential is used to derive the transfer matrix for the Cantor staircase fractal potential. A generalized functional equation for the transfer matrix is derived and a solution is retrieved for the case in which the fractal dimensionality of the corresponding Cantor set is close to unity. The tunneling parameters are calculated including the transmission coefficient and phases of scattered waves.
