Abstract

A study was made of transfer of the impurity 115mIn atoms formed at radiation capture of neutronsand subsequent β- decay [114Cd(n'γ)115Cd → β- decay] in irradiated metallic cadmium (fluence 4.5×1019 neutron cm-2). It was shown that the transfer rate of 115mIn depends on the degree of defectivenessof the structure yielded by irradiation, tends to decrease during post-radiation annealing of metallic cadmium. The parameters of indium diffusion in metallic cadmium after annealing of the radiation-induced defectswere estimated at Ea = 12.56 kJ mol-1, D0 = 3.18 ×10-9 cm2 s-1.
