Abstract

In [1] a method was developed for consideration of nonequilibrium phenomena in an inhomogeneous gas mixture with bimolecular chemical reactions of the type A+B⇌C+D using the method of Grade [2, 3]. In the present study this system is generalized to the case of a gaseous mixture of molecules possessing internal degrees of freedom. Simultaneous consideration of the chemical reactions and the internal degrees of freedom permits more accurate description of the system and exposes certain new effects, in particular, those connected with the appearance of cross terms in the expressions for reaction rate and the diagonal portion of the pressure tensor.
