Abstract

The palliative use of renal ablation by means of transcatheter embolization is described. A patient with inoperable bladder carcinoma suffered from severe urgency, strangury, and incontinence after a failed surgical procedure. The left kidney was embolized using coils and gelatin sponge (Gelfoam) with complete symptomatic relief.
