Abstract

Transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) is a recently evolving procedure to treat both mitral valve stenosis and regurgitation. The anatomy of the mitral valve makes TMVR a complex procedure. We discuss the types of TMVR procedures, the devices currently used, procedural planning and future directions regarding novel approaches to prevent complications during and post procedure.
