Abstract

Coronary Sinus Atrial Septal Defect (CS-ASD) are the rarest defects of the atrial septum, comprising <1% of the five different types of ASDs. Despite the widespread adoption of percutaneous device closure of ASD, till date surgical closure remains the treatment of choice for such defects. A very few isolated case reports of successful percutaneous closure of such defect with covered stent or amplatzer septaloccluder (ASO) device has been reported in world literature. However, uncertainty regarding safety and efficacy limits widespread application of trans-catheter intervention. Here we report a successful trans-catheter closure of a CS- ASD by ASO device in a 4year old boy.
