Abstract

Prior studies have documented worse outcomes for both carotid endarterectomy and transfemoral stenting for patients requiring hemodialysis. It has been established that transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) can be safely performed in high-risk patients such as octogenarians and patients with prior carotid endarterectomy, contralateral occlusion, and heavily calcified lesions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the TCAR outcomes in patients requiring dialysis.
