Abstract

Age ≥80 years is known to be an independent risk factor for peri-procedural stroke following transfemoral carotid artery stenting (TF-CAS) but not carotid endarterectomy (CEA). The association of age with outcomes following transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) has not been described. The objective of this study is to compare perioperative outcomes for CEA, TF-CAS, and TCAR among octogenarian patients (≥80 years of age).
