Abstract

Background: Morbidity and mortality of surgical aortic valve replacement (AVR) are increased in patients with previous heart surgery. Especially patients after homograft AVR carry an increased risk. Transapical aortic valve implantation (TAVI) may be an option to reduce mortality and morbidity in this special patient group.
