Abstract

Argonaute (AGO) proteins execute RNA-induced transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene silencing. Inthis issue of Developmental Cell, Liu etal. (2018) uncover a nuclear function for Arabidopsis AGO1 in positively regulating gene expression. AGO1, guided by small RNAs, binds to chromatin to induce target gene transcription in response to environmental stimuli.
