Abstract

The trans-umbilical breast augmentation (TUBA) procedure, a technique for inserting inflatable breast implants through an incision in the umbilicus or through preexisting abdominal scars, adds a new dimension to breast augmentation surgery. The technique is relatively easy to learn and requires few specialized instruments. Surgical time is considerably less, implants can be placed in the subglandular or submuscular position, and patient satisfaction is very high with this approach.
