Abstract

The interaction of N-trimethylsilyl-N-methylacetamide with chloromethyl(methyl)-diacetoxysilane led to the formation of 2,4,6-trimethyl-2,4-bis((N-methylacetamido)methyl)-1,3,5,2,4-trioxadisilinan-6-ylium chloride. The structure was proved by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. This compound contains chloride anion, molecule of acetic acid and the C2 symmetry planar six-membered heterocycle with two chiral silicon atoms, one carbon as carbocation and three oxygen atoms The silicon atoms are bonded with O atoms of acetamide fragments by dative bonds C=O→Si (1.872(1) Å).
