Abstract

This article reports the results of a survey of oral and maxillofacial surgery residency programs regarding the teaching of implantology. The findings show that although oral and maxillofacial surgery residents receive as much or more didactic training than most trainees in other dental specialties, and much more extensive surgical experience, the teaching is not uniform and there is still need for improvement in some areas.
