Abstract
The aim of this article was to evaluate the training of teachers to ensure the quality of the educational process in pre-school education institutions. The research is based on data from a structured interview with 3447 teachers of pre-school education in the Czech Republic. The study revealed a high level of training of Czech pre-school teachers in terms of the following elements: content of teaching subjects, general pedagogy and classroom practice of teaching subjects. The research also revealed the disadvantages associated with teaching pre-school children in a multicultural environment: lack of skills to work with children from different ethnic groups; methods of work are not adapted to the needs of children from different cultures; lack of understanding of how effectively children from different cultures work together; lack of awareness of cultural differences of children.
