Abstract

The need for fertilizer for plants is getting higher, especially in Nogosari Hamlet, Dadapayu Semanu Village, Gunungkidul. Farmers are currently experiencing a scarcity of fertilizer needs. Increasing food needs along with increasing population is the main problem of food security in Indonesia. In general, the use of urea fertilizer is much higher than that of P and K fertilizers. Farmers prefer to use excess urea because the application of urea shows rapid changes in plant growth. However, the plants become more susceptible to disease. Abundant organic waste requires serious handling so that the waste can be useful. One reliable way to speed up the waste decomposition and reclamation process is to use microbes such as biofertilizers and decomposers. A decomposer that has the ability to degrade organic matter quickly is easy to apply, and lasts a long time is the main requirement for a good decomposer. In addition to the use of fertilizers, soil can also be improved by providing soil amendments. Soil amendments can especially improve soil fertility so as to support plant growth. The business of making organic liquid fertilizer has quite promising market opportunities because many farmers are starting to switch to organic farming. The shape and uniqueness of the raw materials used make this liquid fertilizer have its own appeal among the public. Its liquid form makes it easier for people to apply it to various types of plants. Besides that, liquid fertilizer has its own advantages compared to organic compost and manure, namely in terms of nutrient absorption by plants. Business opportunities to utilize waste around the house from agricultural products are getting bigger with the existence of government policies to implement integrated and sustainable agriculture.
