Abstract

This paper describes some aspects of a project that has been operated under the auspices of the World Council of Churches and some of its affiliated organizations for fifteen years. The project, led mainly by specialists from Europe and North America, has involved programs in Africa, Asia, the Carbbean, Latin America, and Oceania. The authors have been consultants to this project from its inception and have participated actively in most of its major developments.
