Abstract

Junior doctors have rejected the idea of a subconsultant grade in the NHS and renounced the growth in fellowships for new holders of the certificate of completion of training (CCT). At the BMA’s annual Junior Doctors Conference on 18 May, delegates voted to resist any job roles that allowed junior doctors to advance beyond the CCT without becoming fully fledged consultants or GPs.
