Abstract

Abstract This article deals with the channels of humorousness in a little-known ballad by Antonio de Zamora about The Escurial. It explores some of the implications of the category of the “jocoserio” within the panorama of Golden Age laughter. Next, it analyzes the structure and elocution of the composition, paying particular attention to the mixture of the burlesque register with the encomiastic purpose.
