Abstract

Trafficking in human beings is a complex process because it involves several steps with additional activities. By its position, at the crossroads between Eastern and Western Europe, North and South, Romania was included in the Balkan Route of illegal immigration, then connected to trafficking networks.Even if it violates human rights and produces serious economic and social consequences, this phenomenon is constantly rising.Trafficking of minors aged 15-18 years old involves the lowest risks for traffickers because their papers can be easily falsified by changing the age. Also this category of victims bring the biggest gains for traffickers.
