Abstract

Purpose: To map the socio-demographic pattern of fatal road traffic injuries in reproductive age group in Iran. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted from 21 March 2009 till 20 March 2010. All fatal road traffic injury cases were selected from a national register, i.e. Forensic Medicine System. RESULTS: Mean and standard deviation of age were 37.3 and 20.8 years and the median age was 33.0 years. Male-to-female ratio was 5.2. Most fatal road traffic injuries occured among car occupants.
