Abstract

This paper is derived from work conducted as part of a recent study of the methods which can be used to estimate the costs of traffic accidents or to value their prevention, undertaken for the World Bank (Hills and Jones-Lee 1981). As a contribution to that study the author examined the procedures adopted in a number of countries. This paper extends and further reports on that examination. (Author/TRRL)
