Abstract
In 1874 a large barrow on the coast of Sunnm⊘re was excavated by amateurs. From the time of discovery the find, mainly consisting of decorated slab fragments from one or several grave cists, has remained a puzzle in Norwegian archaeology. This account is an attempt to reconsider the find both in its local context and in relation to foreign parallels.
