Abstract

The study was intended to find out the effect of building up students reading habit on the development of their writing skill. An action-research design was employed, involving two cycles, each of which was of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The findings suggest that the development of reading habit improves the writing process and product in various types of writing: essay writings, scientific writings, book reviews, research proposals, short stories, and poems
