Abstract

Many people today do not enjoy contemporary art. The current art world is like a fishpond of unidentifiable origin, full of algae, weeds, turbid water and rocky stones. Contemporary visual arts, with their anthropological elements (including political, economic, ethnic, aesthetic and psychological), are unquestionably a field of cultural interpretation. In comparison to international art fairs, museums of contemporary art are cultural vessels with more established systems. Because their locations are permanent, the influence of local social systems upon them is inevitable. A museum of art safeguards historical and artistic objects, collects secret knowledge and power and even assumes the duty of keeping cultural heritage intact for an entire nation or the world. Museums of contemporary art have now entered the postmodern era of operational and curatorial practice.
