Abstract

It is intended that the Symposium should examine methods of reducing inflationary wage pressure in conditions of full employment and economic growth, with special emphasis being placed on possible ways of making existing decentralised methods of wage determination less inflation-prone. In this context it has been alleged that in Western Europe and Britain a major difficulty in implementing principles of wage policy would consist of applying at the plant level any agreements reached at the industry or economy level, on account of the weak influence of national trade union (and employers’) organisations in the enterprise.KeywordsWage RateTrade UnionCollective BargainingPlant LevelIndustry LevelThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
