Varney is an instructor of Health Care Administration for the Health Care Administration Division, Academy of Health Sciences, Fort Sam Houston, TX. He is also assistant program administrator for the U.S. Army/Baylor University Graduate Program in Health Care Administration and graduate instructor for Elements of Health Care and Institutional Management. Major Varney holds an MHA in Health Care Administration from Baylor University and has been the deputy commander for administration and Dental Company Commander, U.S. Army DENTAC, Fort Knox, KY. He was also the administrative resident for U.S. Army MEDDAC, Fort Knox, KY; the Headquarters/Support company commander for the 15th Medical Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, TX; and a medical officer/field medical assistant for Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 38th Air Defense Artillery Battalion, Osan Air Base, Korea. He has conducted a number of research studies in health care administration. Major Dudley J. Schroeder is chief of the Clinical Support Division of Evans U.S. Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO. He holds an MA degree from Kearney State College in Education and has been chief of the Staff and Faculty Development Division, Academy of Health Sciences, Fort Sam Houston, TX; chief of the Administrative Support Branch, SHAPE, Belgium; and platoon leader and executive officer, Stuttgart, W. Germany.
