Dr Sally received his PhD from the LSE in 1992, having previously studied at the University of Frankfurt, the Free University of Berlin and the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. His research has focused on trade policies and policy-making in developing and transitional countries, and on developing country participation in the WTO. He has published Classical Liberalism and International Economic Order: Studies in Theory and Intellectual History. He has worked through Enterprise LSE, the Commonwealth Business Council and other national and international organizations on trade consultancy projects. He is on the Academic Advisory Council of the Institute of Economic Affairs in London, on the advisory board of the Cato Centre for Trade Policy Studies in Washington DC.
