Abstract

A fugacity model that can be used to evaluate the environmental fate of various organic compounds is described. The model employs the fugacity concept and treats the environment as four bulk compartments. By undertaking a calculation under steady state non-equilibrium conditions, one can obtain information about a chemical’s partitioning, transformation and environmental process. In this work, the fugacity model applied to trichloroethylene in the specified region of lake of Daechung and the behavior of trichloroethylene is presented. The results give a picture of the chemical’s fate in an evaluative environment.
