Abstract

In this paper, a new neutrosophic exponentially weighted moving average (NEWMA) control chart based on the moving average statistic is proposed. Stated differently, the NEWMA chart is used to handle uncertain production numbers. Moreover, a NEWMA design is applied with moving average statistic to get a sensitive control chart for the quick detection of any unwanted process variations. The efficacy of the chart is evaluated with the average run lengths that are computed using Monte Carlo simulations. Also, a comparative study has been performed with some existing control charts that use the classical and neutrosophic moving average statistics. The implementation of the proposed control chart has been illustrated with the simulated and temperature datasets. It was found that the proposed chart performs well.
