Abstract

Established in 1837, the Trivandrum observatory has been working over the past 185 yr as an institution catering to the scientific and academic community. After a major renovation recently, the arrival of the comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) has provided an opportunity for the Trivandrum observatory to explore its capability in astronomy. The sky remained clear from February 13th onwards for 5 days, providing a much awaited window for tracking of the path of the comet. An apparent change in the coma is visualized in the images which could be associated with the increase in the radial distance from the Earth and also due to the increase in distance from the Sun.
