Abstract

The growing need of the urban population gives birth to the concept of smart cities, which are equipped with smart devices and modern technologies for the collection and analysis of data. IoT devices collect data from sensors, electronics wearables, processors, vehicles, software, cell phones, etc., and examine using AI without substantial intervention from humans. These smart AI machines learn and enhance their performance with time-based on the data they analyze. Big data collected from IoT devices help in intellectual insights, to detect the patterns in the data using derived and dedicated algorithms. These smart devices help in integration of various government departments into a single platform that hosts different modern services efficiently and effectively. For example, traffic solutions, better health care, efficient parking automated systems, weather changes, and various other urban issues, including public safety. These smart devices can be extremely valuable in situations like the current outbreak of COVID-19. This chapter is organized to explain the human-technology association in an efficient and effective way and offer practical explanations for monitoring virus spreads during pandemics. This chapter also discusses the use of Data Science in Pandemic Analysis and Management. This chapter further argues various ways for Pandemic Detection through Smart Computing Technologies and how to track the pandemic outbreak through Smart Sensor Networks. The Big-data collected here by various smart IoT devices can be used to Detect the Next Pandemic with the help of Smart Data Management. Smart data management here means World Wide Pandemic Data Analysis, Data Sharing, and Control through Smart Computing Networks.
