Abstract

Determination of concentrations of eight trace elements in the dry matter of C. racemosa revealed that the transition elements Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni are more highly concentrated than the alkali and alkaline earth elements. The Ni/Co and Ca/Sr ratios in the alga are distinctly different from the ratios of these elements in sea water, while the K/Rb ratio is only slightly different.
