Abstract
The element concentration patterns as obtained by multielement analysis techniques such as INAA, provide not only information on a number of individual elements simultaneously, but in addition information present in correlations between elements. With Target Transformation Factor Analysis, such information can be extracted from multielement concentration datasets. Application of TTFA to the element concentration patterns observed in environmental samples yields the compositions of polluting components, which may facilitate identification of the associated sources.
