Abstract

Abstract The range of volatile metal chelates whose chemical form and gas chromatographic characteristics enable their elution and determination to picogram levels by electron capture detection has been extended to fluorinated tetradentate beta-ketoamine chelates of divalent transition metals. These complexes, notably of copper, nickel and palladium exhibit high electron capture sensitivities due both to the presence of fluorine atoms and to the presence of three chelate rings per molecule.
