Abstract

High-grade gliomas carry a dismal prognosis owing to their infiltrative nature and high rate of local recurrence. With the goal of improving the outlook for this disease, we examined the potential of combining replication-competent adenovirus-mediated suicide gene therapy (gene therapy) with radiation (XRT) in a preclinical model of human glioma. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the toxicity and efficacy of gene therapy + XRT in a preclinical model of human glioma.
