Abstract

In this article, the author offers his own approach to the analysis of art and reflection on it (calling this approach “socio-cultural methodology”). The author sets the principles of considering the phenomena of art from the point of view of socio-cultural methodology. V.M. Rozin's “cultural-psychological” concept of art is used as a specific point of repulsion. The author, conducting a critical analysis of this concept, shows how it is possible to universalize the modern, “postmodern” idea of art, taking the position of the artist and the works created by him beyond the limits of cultural conformity. The author emphasizes the need to consider the modern global-intercultural communicative space as a result of certain sociocultural processes, with their own positive and negative perspectives. The contradictions of this space will be expressed in the corresponding works of art and their relations to each other and reflection on all this.
