Towards “normative” data and “standardized” protocols

Abstract

This talk will provide you with an overview of commonly used measurement protocols and analyses used in the assessment of the dynamics of the superficial retinal vasculature. Over the past years and following a consensus paper in 2010 researchers have adopted a more “standardized” measurement and analysis approach. More recent data from larger cohorts has been used to create “normative” data sets. Such normative data sets can have great potential for risk stratification of patients, for example those with hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
