Abstract

As hypothesized, we observed a statistically significant decrease in functional connectivity between the PCC and MPFC in ELS participants, and also found decreased connectivity between the PCC and medial temporal region. Similar to our previous study (2), these findings occurred in the absence of diagnosed psychiatric illness. The MPFC has been implicated in the regulation of fear and anxiety symptoms, particularly post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and it is possible that insufficient DN connectivity may play a role in this disorder. These findings underscore the importance of further studies investigating ELS-associated alterations of the DN. DATA ANALYSES RESULTS
