Abstract

With COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, public health issues globally have become an urgent and pressing concern. Practice has shown that health diplomacy among countries, international organizations, and non-state actors plays a pivotal role in ensuring and strengthening global health security on the one hand; and that more efforts are supposed to be devoted to further improving the global public health governance system on the other. Taking China–Malaysia bilateral cooperation on health security amid the COVID-19 as a case study, this article is intended to highlight the urgency and importance of building a Global Community of Health for All advocated by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The success story of China–Malaysia health cooperation demonstrates the effectiveness of Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic. There is an urgent need for creating more effective systems for regional and international cooperation in tackling current global health challenges.
