Abstract

Code of ethics for software engineers already exists. However, none of these explicitly faces principles of green or sustainable software engineering. This paper tries to address this shortcoming by exposing an ethical foundation, which emphasizes the need for green software engineering. After that, the question of responsibility will be asked, and what the ethical foundation can contribute hereunto.
