Abstract
The use of wireless communication systems for critical applications in a shared medium presents a lot of challenges regarding its reliability and robustness. The WirelessHART protocol, although robust has a lack of active mechanisms for coexistence, becoming vulnerable for interference sources. This paper proposes an expansion of the WirelessHART coexistence mechanisms, allowing an online analysis of the spectrum occupation and enabling new metrics for the selection of channels used by this protocol.
